Fri-YAY: A Juan Soto Appreciation Post

As George R.R. Martin wrote in the Game of Thrones books, the night is dark and full of terrors, the day bright and beautiful and full of hope. In this space I plan to mention something that makes me smile: an organization, a story I found, a cute picture, really anything that brightens up my day and I hope might brighten up your day too.

For long-suffering fans of the Washington Nationals, 2019 was awesome. It could not really have gone better, as the team brought home the franchise’s first World Series since 1924. Like so many other things in life, 2020 hasn’t really worked out the way the team (or its fans) had hoped.

But Juan Soto remains great and pure and one of my favorite things about MLB. Childish Bambino is hitting .342 and has an OPS of 1.178, and that’s with the fact that he missed a decent chunk of the 60-game season due to a positive COVID test and a sore arm.

So take a moment to click on those links and introduce yourself to the delightful ray of sunshine otherwise known as Juan Soto.
